David Benyon is founder-editor of The Cyber Insurance Podcast and its sister title The Political Risk Podcast. He is also the editor of GlobalRe and chairs its annual DWIC event in Dubai. David is an officer in the UK's Royal Navy Reserve, with 16 years' reservist experience and two full-time operational deployments to the Middle East as an Information Warfare Maritime Trade Operations specialist.

Previous B2B editor roles include Strategic Risk, Airmic News and Reactions, and he has written for many risk and re/insurance trades in nearly 20 years of trade financial journalism. He began his journalism at the advent of the global financial crisis, covering operational risk, corporate governance and regulatory developments in the banking world for OpRisk and Risk.net. He holds a BA-Joint Hon's in War Studies & History, and an MA in British Imperial History, both from King’s College, London.
